This is the industry standard vocational qualification and non-apprenticeship pathway for those of you who are working within the electrical installation industry and looking to apply for an ECS Gold Card and work as a fully qualified electrican within the domestic, commercial and industrial sectors.
This qualification requires the completion of a 3 day end point assessment (commonly known as the AM2) at an independant assessment centre is a requirement for recognition as a competent domestic, commercial and industrial electrician
Course Duration

This is both a knowledge and work based qualification, the duration dependant on a candidates experience and access to the range of evidence required from naturally ocurring on-site activities

Completion of the work based aspects are typically achieved between a period of 6 to 18 months
Who is this qualification for?

Candidates who are currently working within the electrical contracting industry without any formal qualifications

For those who are currently working in the electrical installation industry and have previously achieved a recognised Level 2 and 3 Diploma in Electrical Installation or equivilent qualifications within the last 5 years

There may be a requirement to complete a 'knowledge bridging unit' (additional cost will apply) for candidates who completed the Level 3 Dipolma in Electrical Installation or equivelent qualification at an alternative training provider. This does not apply if the EAL Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installaltion was completed at Ipswich Skills Centre

How is the qualification assessed?

A mix of on-screen multiple choice examinations and in-centre controlled assignments
